Southern Tuscany

Southern Tuscany is slightly off the beaten path, yet has a "Roman" feel to it due to its proximity to the Eternal City. Well known for picturesque landscape and authentic, local flavor, visitors appreciate that Southern Tuscany is a little more tranquil than other parts of Tuscany, even in high season.  Explore the lovely towns of Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino (famous for Brunello wine, one of Italy's top reds), San Casciano dei Bagni, Sarteano, Chiusi and Radicofani among others. The area borders Umbria, so Orvieto is an easy day-trip, and both Rome and Florence two hours away.
