Cortona

Near the Umbrian border in eastern Tuscany, the hill town of Cortona is filled with Etruscan heritage and is designated a citta d’arte (“city of art”), hosting a variety of cultural events and festivals throughout the year, including the famous “Tuscan Sun Festival” in late summer. With Cortona as a home base, you’ll feel part of Italian life and can visit many small towns and villages in both Tuscany and Umbria, head to daily markets, participate in many local festivals and seek out the cities of Florence, Siena, Lucca or Pisa to wander among centuries old monuments and museums and sample Tuscan food and wine.
